Small changes, bigger impact
Cairies have been helping Dyslexia Scotland improve our information management systems. Emma tells us why.
“Towards the end of 2024 my daughter was identified as dyslexic. Looking back, the signs had been there for a while. She found certain things really hard, like times tables and spelling and the learning didn’t ‘stick’.
Around that time, the school shared details of an online session Dyslexia Scotland was running for parents. The meeting was packed with inspiring speakers and practical guidance, and I found it genuinely reassuring. I became a member, and decided it would be nice to give something back. So, I got in touch and offered some pro bono support to help
Dyslexia Scotland get more out of Salesforce, the database they use to manage contact details. Working with the team, we’ve made it easier for staff to capture, search for, find and maintain information on tutors.. The outcome is a more streamlined way of managing information, with less time spent updating spreadsheets and chasing updates, and more
time focused on supporting people. It’s a small change behind the scenes, but it supports the bigger goal: helping more people access the right tutor support at the right time.”
