Dyslexia Scotland publishes its Holyrood Manifesto

Dyslexia Scotland has published its manifesto calling for people with dyslexia to be brought in from the margins of Scottish society.

The manifesto draws on academic research by the charity to highlight significant inequalities their community faces in education and employment.

The charity is calling on political leaders to implement three critical policy asks that will deliver measurable improvements in educational outcomes, workforce participation and lifelong wellbeing.

Chief Executive of Dyslexia Scotland Cathy Magee said: “The challenges facing dyslexic and neurodivergent people require immediate attention – delays mean continued disadvantage, lost potential, and unnecessary hardship for individuals and families across Scotland. Our educators are struggling to manage workloads, our support for learning needs are at a record high and people with dyslexia are consistently being left behind. Our community is calling for change: the time for action is now.”
