Hamza Yassin announced as Keynote speaker for Dyslexia Scotland’s Education Conference: empowering educators

Dyslexia Scotland has announced that their Ambassador, the renowned wildlife cameraman, presenter, and Strictly Come Dancing champion Hamza Yassin will be the keynote speaker at their 2025 Education Conference: Empowering Educators, taking place on 1 November 2025 in Glasgow.

The conference will bring together teachers, support staff, educational leaders and policy makers from across Scotland to explore inclusive approaches and practical strategies to support learners with dyslexia in the classroom.

Hamza’s inspiring story as a successful dyslexic professional will provide a resonating message to close the dynamic professional learning event.

Hamza has spoken at previous Dyslexia Scotland events about difficulties he faced throughout his school years, and the support that helped him succeed. In his keynote address, he will reflect on his personal journey, the importance of educators who believed in him, and the creative strengths he draws on in his working life.

Chief Executive of Dyslexia Scotland Cathy Magee said: “We are thrilled to welcome Hamza as our keynote speaker. His message of resilience, creativity and the value of diverse minds will resonate strongly with teachers striving to create inclusive learning environments.”

The Empowering Educators conference will feature a rich professional learning programme of expert-led talks and workshops as well as a marketplace of organisations who support dyslexia and education.

Attendees are expected to leave with fresh insights, practical tools, and renewed motivation to support learners with dyslexia in Scottish schools.
