Dyslexia Scotland West Lothian – event for young people aged 8 – 14

Big Scottish Storytelling Ripple

Each year Dyslexia Scotland West Lothian celebrates Book Week Scotland with an event for our young people with dyslexia, usually an author talk. This year is a little different – we’re taking part in the Big Scottish Storytelling Ripple with acclaimed storyteller, Colin Williamson.  

Colin is an historian and ethnologist, and he is passionate about Scotland’s history, folklore and customs. He believes storytelling is not only an ancient art form, but also a great way for children who struggle with conventional reading to discover the joy of stories. On 16th November, during Book Week Scotland, Colin will be telling us fantastic Scottish tales and there will also be a chance to win some brilliant dyslexia friendly books. Everyone is welcome, although the event will be geared towards young people aged 8 – 14 with dyslexia.
