Conference ticket sales open
Dyslexia Scotland has announced the opening of ticket sales for their 2026 Education Conference: Closing the Gap
The event will bring together educators, specialists and advocates for a day of professional learning focused on tackling Scotland’s dyslexia attainment gap.
Delegates will hear from keynote speaker Louise Selby, who will share practical approaches to morphology-based teaching, alongside a programme of workshops and seminars designed to support dyslexic learners in primary and secondary education.
Dyslexia Scotland says the conference will provide “accelerated professional learning”, equipping attendees with actionable strategies and evidence-based interventions that can be applied in classrooms straight away.
Addressing inequalities in dyslexic learners’ attainment and wellbeing is a strategic priority for the charity who highlight that young people with dyslexia have lower attainment levels than peers without an additional support need.
National Development Officer Lena Gillies said: “We’re excited to announce this year’s conference and look forward to welcoming over 200 primary and secondary educators from across Scotland on the day. Last year’s event was a sell out, so we encourage people to book early to avoid disappointment.”
The event includes workshops on using AI for inclusion, support for literacy in secondary and supporting dyscalculia.
Singer-songwriter Daniel Robinson will close the event on a heartfelt note, giving a parent’s perspective on the joys and worries of raising a dyslexic child. He’ll perform his touching song ‘Bloom’, an emotional take on a daughter’s potential through her father’s eyes.
