MSPs pledge support for Manifesto asks
Several MSPs signed a pledge to support Dyslexia Scotland’s Manifesto’s aims yesterday
Dyslexia Scotland said it made “good progress” in raising awareness of its Manifesto priorities during a day of engagement with MSPs at the Scottish Parliament.
The charity reported a steady stream of visitors to its drop in session, with MSPs stopping to hear about its key policy asks, ask questions and share their own observations from constituencies.
MSPs who visited included Oliver Mundell, Miles Briggs, Jeremy Balfour, Siobhian Brown, Stuart McMillan and Stephen Kerr.
The organisation said the discussions helped highlight the importance of improving support for people with dyslexia and encouraged cross-party engagement with its proposals.
Several MSPs also signed a pledge backing the Manifesto’s aims.
The drop-in session coincided with the final meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Dyslexia for this Parliamentary session which will be the last for Convener Oliver Mundell who is stepping down as an MSP. Dyslexia Scotland representatives thanked him for his dedication to the cause and for helping advance awareness of dyslexia at a policy level.
Dyslexia Scotland is urging supporters to write to their own MSPs to gain further political support for their Manifesto.
