DyslexiFest welcomes bestselling author

Families, educators and anyone curious about dyslexia are invited to a free drop-in information day in Stirling, with bestselling author Margaret Rooke as the main attraction.

The author will host two sessions of Meet the Dyslexia Club! where she speaks with young people whose words helped shape her new book of the same title. The conversations are designed to encourage and inspire children aged 7 to 12 and older, and the adults who support them.

Margaret, who has a daughter with dyslexia, said: “Young people with dyslexia have powerful stories to tell – about creativity, resilience and problem-solving. There’s so much we can learn from them. I’m excited to share the stage with them in Stirling and to give practical ideas for families and others to take away.”

Dyslexia Scotland’s National Development Officer Lena Gillies said: “We’re thrilled to welcome bestselling author Margaret Rooke to DyslexiFest this year. Her books capture the authentic voices of young people with dyslexia and have inspired thousands of readers.

“DyslexiFest is always a welcoming and positive event. We’re looking forward to meeting children, young people and adults with dyslexia, as well as families and professionals, to answer questions and share practical ideas for living, learning and working with dyslexia.”

Alongside Margaret Rooke’s talks, visitors can browse a marketplace of dyslexia stalls featuring Dyslexia Scotland resources, and get friendly, practical advice from staff and volunteers.
