Joining Dyslexia Scotland’s list of approved assessors

Can you assess children and/or adults for Dyslexia?

In 2025, 57% of enquiries to our Helpline asked for our list of recommended assessors to get an assessment for dyslexia. 

Dyslexia Scotland maintains a list of recommended Assessors. To join this list we require all applicants to meet our criteria. If you would like to view this, you can find it at the bottom of this page.

If you don’t currently meet our criteria and want to complete training to achieve our standard, please contact one of these professional bodies:

• British Dyslexia Association
• Professional Association for Teachers of Students with SpLDs
• The Dyslexia Guild
