Earlier this year, we responded to a Scottish Government discussion paper on a Letter of Rights for Scotland.

From 1 July 2013, anyone brought into police custody in Scotland will receive a non-statutory Letter of Rights.

The consultation exercise we contributed to helped to shape the language and format of the Letter to deliver a more informative and accessible document.

The Letter is available here on the Scottish Government website.

The Scottish Government intends to produce the Letter in other accessible formats.

Click here for details of another consultation which is relevant for people with dyslexia. It asks  for your views on the Disabled Students Allowance.

The deadline for responses is 30th September.
