On 9 March 2022 we hosted a special online DyslexiFest event dedicated to dyslexia and mental health, featuring previews from an upcoming Scottish documentary by dyslexic filmmaker Trevor Thomson. The panel included Pennie Astonn Founder and Director of GroOops, Professor Amanda Kirby, CEO of Do-IT Solutions Ltd, Jennifer Ewan, singer-songwriter and Keith Macaldowie, a dyslexic adult.
We were taken aback by how popular this DyslexiFest was, yet not surprised. The huge demand to attend underscores just how important an issue mental health is for the dyslexic community.
With only 150 spaces available, and so much need for support, information and expert views, we didn't want to let anyone down. We made the decision to record the panel discussions and make the video freely available.
We're pleased to announce that the recording of this incredibly important event will preview on our YouTube channel on 24 March at 12.00 noon (GMT).
If dyslexia and mental health is an issue close to your heart, please help us to reach the people who need to see this video. Supporting the mental health of the dyslexic community is one step towards a dyslexia-friendly Scotland.
Watch, like, share. Let's reach as many people as we can with this dyslexia and mental health event.
