An evening with author Steve Cole

Join Dyslexia Scotland and author Steve Cole on Zoom at 7pm on Monday 1 November for this fun 40-minute event aimed at 8 - 13 year olds. Steve is a funny, crazy and super talented children’s author whose sales exceed three million copies! His books include the hugely successful Astrosaurs series, Young James Bond and Doctor Who novels. He has also written a number of books for dyslexia-friendly publishers, Barrington Stoke, that combine adventures with environmental issues - from the Amazon wildfires in 'World Burn Down' to the problems of recycling electronic waste in 'Welcome to Trashland'.

With ukulele in hand, Steve will talk about how ideas can inspire stories even if you have a difficult relationship with words - and how superheroes have turbo-charged his imagination. He’ll also talk about how sharing ideas can help the environment, in particular while COP26 takes place in Scotland. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.

Book free places on Eventbrite

Everyone who registers and turns up on the night will be entered into our prize draw and be in with a chance of winning Steve’s books and more! The event is part of Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland which is 1 - 7 November.  Parents are welcome to attend too - only one booking per family is needed.
