Topic: Understanding Assessment Reports

Dr Jennie Guise, an Edinburgh-based Chartered Psychologist who specialises in dyslexia, will be talking about adult dyslexia assessments and covering the following:

  • What are the general aims of an assessment?
  • Why do adults come for an assessment?
  • What does the assessment involve?
  • Rationale for assessment process
  • The ‘spiky profile’ and role of working memory
  • Challenges in assessing adults
  • Recommendations
  • The report

This is an excellent opportunity to hear about everything about dyslexia assessments and to get answers to all the questions about them that you were afraid to ask. It will be especially useful to adults thinking about getting an assessment, managers who have team members who are or may be dyslexic, as well as for those who have been assessed but still have  questions. Everyone is welcome.
