Alba says, “When my Great Gran passed away, I was fortunate enough to inherit over £100.
I attend St Angela’s primary school in Darnley, Glasgow and I am a member of the Dyslexia Club there. I enjoy reading but find it a challenge and dyslexia-friendly books really help me. However, they were in short supply at my school.
I decided to donate my money and buy lots of dyslexia-friendly novels and set up our very own dyslexia library. I find that the friendly format has made me more confident and better at reading the average book as well.”
How this helps people with dyslexia
The reason I chose to donate the books is because of the growing number of dyslexic learners in my school, through being assessed and identified as dyslexic and I wanted to encourage others to feel better about books they can actually read.”
