Employability pilot offers route to Modern Apprenticeships

Pilot for Skills Development Scotland

Specialist training provider Concept Northern is looking for ten young people between the ages of 16 – 21 to take part in an employability award pilot for Skills Development Scotland.

Successful candidates will undertake a customized award, designedspecifically for individuals with dyslexia, that will lead to a recognized SQA qualification (SCQF Level 5 and 20 credit points) and progression to one of ten Modern Apprenticeship job placements in West Central Scotland including: 

Management,

  • Business & Administration,
  • ICT Professional,
  • Customer Service; and
  • Retail.

During the Modern Apprentice placement, candidates will receive full pay and achieve an industry-recognized qualification in their specific field leading onto retention in their current role, or progression to another job that suits their acquired skill set.

Full Additional Needs Support will be provided via Access to Work and Concept Northern.

The award should take up to 3 months to complete and can be delivered online, with assistance from our Qualified Trainers or in our training suite.

Candidates will receive full 6 month versions of dyslexia specific support software: TextHelp Read and Write, Mind View 6 and Audio Notetaker.
