The next meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Dyslexia will take place on Wednesday 7th February 2018 from 1pm and 2.30pm in the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh. Attendees will gather in the reception area by 12.45 pm.
The topic for the meeting will be Dyslexia and its impact on health and well-being. We are delighted that we will have inputs from two guest speakers.
Dr Jennie Guise, Dysguise
Dr Guise has 30 years of experience working with children, young people and adults and is highly qualified in the areas of psychology, education and business. She is a Chartered Psychologist, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Scientist and Member of Health and Care Professionals Council. Dr Guise is an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and Member of the Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS). She has a PATOSS Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment Practising Certificate. She has a European Certificate in Psychology. Dr Guise is a Chartered Manager and Member of the Chartered Institute of Managers. She is also a registered CogMed Coach.Jenny is also a member of the Cross Party Group.
Colin Baird, Assessor and Coach, Genius within (Central Scotland)
Genius Within's objective is for people with neurodiverse conditions to fulfil their potential at work and in their career. They provide support in the form of coaching, training and assessments. They also provide support to those not in the workplace who might be studying, unemployed or in the criminal justice system.
The Scottish Parliament will only provide visitor passes to those whose names have been provided within the required time frame. This means that you must let the Group Secretary know if you are planning to attend.
