Dyslexia and Assistive Technology

This presentation will look at how people with dyslexia can use technology, including Windows laptops, iPads / iPhones, smart phones and tablets to make it easier for them to engage with text.
To help with reading, we will look at:
- Changing the appearance of text on the display
- Text to Speech software and apps
- Reading Pens
- Getting accessible text
To help with writing, we'll look at:
- Developing keyboard skills
- Word prediction
- Spellcheckers / Grammar checkers
- Speech recognition
Deirdre will describe the supports available for learners with dyslexia in Glasgow schools and will look ahead to changes in the technology available for Glasgow schools over the next two years.
There will be posters and other resources to take away.
